“I have known Francesca (“Fran”) since 2012 when I first consulted her to help with my chronic pain and discomfort. At the time, she was the first physiotherapist who was based at the RMB Merchant Place campus. I was born with a rare condition known as Klippel-Feil Syndrome (“KFS”) which is a muscular-skeletal disorder characterized by fusion of the cervical vertebrae, scoliosis, Sprengel’s Deformity, amongst other things.
There is no known cure for KFS so treatment is symptomatic and very much playing it by ear. Fran had never come across a case like mine but was nonetheless a pro & was soon able to come up with a treatment plan which was effective. She used her considerable skills & experience to ensure that my pain levels were at a manageable level & also exploring alternative procedures such as acupuncture as well as referring me to other specialists in their fields e.g. pilates instructors so that a more holistic approach was adopted.
Over the years Fran has seen her physio business grow substantially which ultimately led to the very successful Sandton Physiotherapy Practice being established – this is a vital part of the FirstRand Wellbeing Centre. I’ve also had numerous medical aid chronic application & disability forms which had to be completed & submitted during this period (this was for chronic & disability cover) & Fran always accommodated & motivated all my requests.
As her practice expanded, Fran also mentored several physios who joined her practice who themselves are now successful. It’s been a pleasure consulting Fran over the years & I look forward to continuing doing so.” Regards, RB
